Anti-kickback Design: Kickback is caused by over-feed. It happens so quickly it can be impossible to react before injury occurs. On a table saw the wood is thrown back violently, on a radial arm saw the blade climbs quickly out of the cut and on a hand held saw the saw is pushed out of the cut. Freud's design reduces this. Each tooth is followed by a limiter, which restricts bite to the maximum safe amount. Teflon® Coating. Resistant to friction and heat build-up. Teflon® coated blades last longer, cleaning is easy and the distinctive coating also gives rust resistance.Whisper Quiet Expansion Slots: A question-mark shaped slot allows for the necessary expansion yet reduces noise. Laser Cut, High Strength Bodies: The use of precision lasers to avoid unwanted stress in the metal. The method also allows the use of higher strength steel (40 to 45 Rc). These bodies remain true, even after years of use. Tensioned Blades for Superior Flatness: Pre-tensioned blades ensure years of smooth operation. The process is computer controlled and was designed and built by Freud. Advanced Tri-Metal Tip Brazing: Copper alloy is sandwiched between layers of silver alloy (Copper is soft and will stretch without residual stresses, insulating the shoulders from impacts.)
