50 Years, By George!
The original Cromwell-Siddle shop in Grimsby |
On 1st June 2009 long standing employee George Siddle completed his 50 years service.
George started out working for his older brother, who started his business as a market trader in 1953 opening his town centre toolshop “J E Siddle” on the 8th Sept 1959 supplying local industry. George worked as a regular driver collecting goods from the major manufacturers in Sheffield before the motorway network was set up.
J E Siddle was taken over in February 1989 for a short while by a few ex Cromwell employees.
Then in November 1989 Cromwell took over both the Grimsby (see photo) and Hull locations and continued to trade until Grimsby moved to it’s present location in July 1996 and Hull was located across the road from the old premises into a new purpose built Distribution Centre.
Congratulations George and many thanks for all your efforts over the years! And a Happy 65th Birthday for 29th September too.
