Cromwell & Rovers – A Championship Team
Once again Cromwell made their presence felt at the Community day held by Doncaster Rover’s on Sunday 20th July 2008 at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Yet again the intention was to raise local awareness of Cromwell (Doncaster) and to get as many people as possible knowing who Cromwell are.
This year was slightly different, not only selling raffle tickets at a £1.00 a strip with a free ‘Cromwell’ football, but we also ran a letter hunt around the ground to keep parents and children interested. The prize for the letter hunt being a voucher for a local family public house.
The winner who correctly spelt ‘SHERWOOD’ was a Mr Rod Purshouse & Family, congratulations. The main raffle prize a framed, signed Doncaster Rovers Shirt, winning raffle ticket pink 701 – 705 please claim your prize by ringing the local branch and asking for Steve Howden (01302 366600).
During the day we managed to sell £750.00 raffle tickets, which in turn meant blowing up 750 footballs, once again covering the stadium with Cromwell. Even appearing on Sky Sports News whilst they were interviewing John Ryan (Chairman) and the players signing for fans, and the local paper.
So to summarise a fantastic day well attended by the people of Doncaster, thanks to all our reps for attending and once again to our daughters, Becky, Charli and friends for their invaluable help in making the day a success.
