 Cromwell London has now officially opened of Monday 15th October 2007. This is the first 'start-up' Cromwell site for many years illustrating our on going commitment to expansion, buy it or build it from scratch, Cromwell is coming to a place near you! Soon!
The Stratford branch in East London is a very exciting project offering many opportunities for our company with lots of construction work going on in the immediate area, we see career opportunities for new starters as well as the existing staff that have moved from other branches to get involved. Sited directly opposite the 2012 Olympic park the area is already teeming with Contractors and Tradesmen associated with regeneration of the area in preparation for the 2012 Olympics. While this is an obvious business opportunity for our company in the short term we are also keen to do our bit to ensure Britain puts on an Olympic Games that we will all be proud of and we can say that in some small way we had a hand in.
Applications for the park, which were submitted in February, were approved by the Olympic Delivery Authority's Planning Committee in September 2007. They were then referred to the Government Office for London and the Greater London Authority who only recently gave their agreement for approval. The government has only just given the green light for planning permission for the 500-acre Olympic Park which will form the heart of the London 2012 Games and will include the main stadium, an aquatics centre, velodrome, three sports arenas, a hockey centre, media facilities and the Olympic Village, in which 17,800 athletes and officials will be housed. Once built, the Olympic Park is set to be one of the largest new urban parks opened in Europe for 150 years.
The geography does not limit us to supporting the preparation for the games although it will be a huge priority in the area, the location was selected because also opens many other possibilities within Central London which includes many global blue chip companies who have their offices in the capital. Whether they are home grown, from overseas, large or small they will be getting a knock on their door to let every one know that Cromwell is in town. We already have a number of dates for meetings led by the Chamber of Commerce with TFL (Transport for London) and the MoD with others yet to be confirmed. London Branch achieved ISO9001 status on Wednesday 9th January 2008 after a successful assessment by Mr Peter Ferguson of Lloyds Quality Assurance, pictured presenting the certification to Robert Stone (Commercial Manager).
