The role

  • Providing 2nd line support to users, both over the phone and in person, in the Companies business system and other supported applications.
  • The maintenance of system data, including imports and extracts.
  • The reporting on and basic analysis of system data.
  • The running of system macros as scheduled.
  • Some out of hours support may be required.
  • Early shift and Saturday cover required, on a rota basis.

Qualities:

  • Having excellent organisational skills, you will be able to work under your own initiative as required.
  • You will be a fast learner, with the ability to understand new processes and procedures.
  • You will be a good team player and able to work with others towards common objectives and deadlines.
  • You will have a flexible approach to your work, and be able to work on different types of tasks.

Essential skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, especially over the phone.
  • A good level of computer literacy.
  • A good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • Some experience using spreadsheet programs (e.g. MS Excel).

Desirable skills:

  • Experience of using database programs (e.g. MS Access), and building basic queries.
  • Experience of business/point of sale systems.
  • Experience of report writing, and producing written documentation.
  • Basic UNIX/LINUX.
