Shipping Clerk
12 Month Maternity Cover Contract

The Opportunity:
We have a great opportunity for a Shipping Clerk to join our Overseas team, on a 12 month Maternity cover basis. Through the checking of documents and authorizing on our system, you will arrange for branch oversea orders to be shipped, from booking the freight through to collection.
The Role:
- To check and confirm on the database all oversea stock as being picked and packed
- Day to day overseeing of transfer of relevant data from our internal IT system to the DutyMaster system, ready for shipment.
- To update commodity codes and to code new items to ensure smooth passage through the Duty Management system.
- To enter new codes, customers and suppliers into the DutyMaster system as and when required.
- To have direct dialogue with Customs over any issues that may occur
- To produce invoices for each shipment and provide item identification on each shipment.
- To review the HMRC notices in relation to the Customs Warehouse.
- Ensure that all relevant documents are completed in a timely manner.
- To assist with answering the telephone and to provide general office administration support
Key Skills & Experience:
- Previous administration experience, including extensive data entry and maintaining and updating databases is essential
- Previous Shipping administration experience is highly advantageous, though not necessarily essential
- Strong IT Skills, particularly MS Excel
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and ability to prioritise and work effectively to deadlines
- Able to on own iniative as well as part of a team
