KNIPEX FAQs

The blue-red handles are two-component handles that insulate against cold and heat and offer the user greater comfort than regular plastic coatings.

The yellow-red handles offer immersion insulation and meet the European standard EN 50110-1. The EN 50110-1 standard also determines the testing requirements for the pliers, with the final check for each pair of insulated KNIPEX pliers being a 10,000 volts dielectric strength check.

Quality matters and therefore, all KNIPEX tools use carefully selected steel alloys as well as state-of-the-art measuring technology. Their motivation is to always come up with unconventional solutions that set standards in the field through faster and easier usability.

KNIPEX tools are manufactured exclusively in Germany, at their founding location in Wuppertal. By controlling nearly 100% of the production steps, KNIPEX can produce the best possible quality within all their tools.

You can prevent your tools from rusting by coating them with a waterproof layer. These layers can be an oil film or a lacquer layer. KNIPEX offer tools coated in chrome which naturally prevent rust. KNIPEX recommends that tools be coated in one of these forms to extend the longevity of the tools.
