How much hand sanitizer should I use?
WHO guidelines recommend using enough to keep your hands wet for 20 to 30 seconds. We recommend trying to select a formula which is relatively high in ethanol, around 80% and in a foam format because it will spread very quickly and dry quickly. We found around 1.5ml is about the right amount to hit the WHO guidelines when you use a formula of that type.
Please explain ‘proven to Kill 99.999% of many common bacterial and 99.99% of many common viruses’?
It refers to the percentage of bacteria or viruses that are killed or deactivated after using the product. If a product kills 99.999% of bacteria or viruses, then it will be a hundred times more effective than a product that kills 99.9%.
Do you have to use sanitizer after washing your hands?
If you have washed your hands with soap and water, as a rule no you don’t need to use a sanitizer after as soap and water provides a very adequate hygiene protection. In the occasion where soap and water facilities aren’t available, that’s where an alcohol hand sanitizer should be used. If your hands are soiled or dirty, don’t use an alcohol hand sanitizer, wash with soap and water instead.
