This voltage detector enables safe checking for the presence of an AC voltage without needing to probe or disconnect. This helps to locate breaks in cables, identify blown fuses and distinguish between live & neutral wires in cables and connectors. If the tip glows red and the unit beeps when in contact with a terminal strip, cable or socket, then there is a live voltage present.
