Air Filters

Breathe easy and comfortably with a new air filter. Whether you need a G3 or G4 filter, or whatever the size required for your air conditioner, Cromwell have you covered. We stock a curated range of air filter panels in multiple sizes from the leading manufacturer Vokes-Air®.

Why air filters?

Air filters help purify the air that is being circulated by the air inlets or air conditioning units. They are recommended to reduce the case of allergies (with a hypoallergenic filter) or to provide the users with clean air. Filters can prevent insects, sand, spores, pollen and other debris from being circulated within the environment.

Air filter types

There are multiple types of filters based on the level of filtration provided by the air filter according to the European standards EN 779 and EN 1822. We have listed some of the popular filtration levels below to easily find the perfect level of filtration for yourself:

G1   -   50-65% average arrestance of synthetic dust.

G2   -   65-80% average arrestance of synthetic dust.

G3   -   80-90% average arrestance of synthetic dust.

G4   -   Over 90% average arrestance of synthetic dust.

M5   -   40-60% average efficiency of 0.4 μm particles.

M6   -   60-80% average efficiency of 0.4 μm particles.

F7   -   80-90% average efficiency of 0.4 μm particles, with a minimum of 35% minimum efficiency of 0.4 μm particles.

F8   -   90-95% average efficiency of 0.4 μm particles, with a minimum of 55% minimum efficiency of 0.4 μm particles.

F9   -   Over 95% average efficiency of 0.4 μm particles, with a minimum of 70% minimum efficiency of 0.4 μm particles.

FAQs

How does an air filter work?

Air filters work by trapping particles in the air within the filter and allowing clean, filtered air to pass through the air inlets or air conditioning units. There are various levels of filtration based on European standards, and a highly filtered standard knows as HEPA.

What's the difference between air filters and air purifiers?

Whilst the terms air filters and air purifiers tend to be used interchangeably, there are some differences between them. Air filters provide clean air by filtering out particles in the air to a certain standardised level. Air purifiers sanitise the air by going a step further and removing pet hairs, dust, and dust mites, all of which could trigger allergic reactions.
